First, this is NOT an attempt to revive the thread Piexags closed. He closed that for a reason.

This is for the people on here ( a large number apprently ) who play wow alongside or instead of gw while waiting for the new content to be added to gw. Post your character lore, or share with us wow-ers some of your favorite moments.

Please do not degrade into wow versus gw, this is not the thread for that.

I just hit lvl 38 and did my first scarlet monestary run. Got mograins 1h hammer and crusaders gloves. Gonna try to go for the entire set. I've got a puny 60 gold since I can't find ways to make much money. I'm mostly mining iron and selling stacks of the bars for 5 gold each. I dropped smithing for skinning and made some money from skinning except for that thick leather stacks don't really sell for much. Hoping I'll have enough for my mount when I hit 40.

well if you need money and ur server is a lot like my server, then go herbalism. i NEVER sell my ores/bars unless i can't get xp from them anymore (eg: copper/bronze) and i dont even do that anymore. im not a farmer but i find the most excitement from killing mobs over and over again, waiting for blues and greens. i rarely do that but i find the lvl 24-25 spiders in duskwood have very good drops for their lvl. (sometimes their silk can sell for 1g/each)

Paladins...mmmm...tasty

I enjoy a nice paladin salad in wsg on a regular basis.

Oh, and there is this night elf paladin, named POWPOW (maybe a hunter not pally) who has become infamous alongside me. We enter a match, and she singles me out time and again, but continues to die. It is becoming somewhat of a local server joke. LMAO.

Hmm... looks like I'll be the one taking care of the posts here now... =/ let's see...

Ah yes, I've been sorting stuff out with the clan today, and when I click on the login I see that the servers are having colossal maitenance, so that's called of for tonight...

but I do have the materials to create a Shining Silver Breastplate! It'll be my first ever Rare I have ever crafted -- and will use -- in my gaming time on the Europe servers. I hopefully will max out 225 Blacksmith in my materials as well so I can get ready for the massive amounts of items that are needed to craft some of the best items in the game at the moment.

I quit playing WoW not too long ago and recently gave my account to a friend. I played it for about a year and found it to be an excellent game. If you're looking for a great game to keep you entertained for months on end you've made the right choice. For you new players I'll give you a few tips to help you along through your WoW career.

Some of you probably have low levels, at this point you should decide what race you prefer and look at the benefits of playing these races. Every race has its own abilities. For instance, Night Elves can use Shadowmeld to hide when out of combat making it great for virtually all classes that can be NE's.

Another thing you want to keep in mind is the end game aspect. There are encounters in this game that take 40 people to complete and will be some of the hardest encounters in a video game to date. You'll want to think about how your character may fit into that puzzle. The vast majority of servers are already overrun with Rogues so that would not be the smartest decision to make, unless you don't care about raiding. If you are on the alliance side and want to become a priest you should go with being a Dwarf. Although they are ugly and speak with strange accents they get a spell called Fear Ward which is a very highly demanded skill in raiding guilds. These are just a few examples to keep in mind during your character's creation.

Now that you've got your character all picked out you're ready to start leveling and making some cash. There are certain professions out there that yield better cash results than others. Enchanting is one of the best money making crafts in the game but it costs a ton to level up and also incredible amounts of time. With that said, the 2 best professions you can choose are Mining and Skinning. There are animals all over the place in many maps that can be skinned which is practically money laying on the ground. Also, there are many great grinding spots with mines around them that you can chip away at while you level. So basically, while other people are running around trying to level their craft, you are doing yours while you are leveling saving you a lot of time and making you great cash profit. DO NOT blow your money on blue equipment. They are really a waste because you're just going to level out of them anyway. If you want to get yourself some nice and shiny blues do instance runs. You'll need about 100g to get your first mount and about 1000g to get your epic mount so conserve that money.

Druid Warning: These take a very very long time to level because they kill so slow. Although druids are fun, that is a weakness they have compared to other classes.

The end game of WoW:

In Guild Wars end game is PvP. Although this is true for some people in WoW, its not the case for the majority. You can get epic quality items through increasing your rank in PvP and your reputation by winning in BG's and buying the rewards, but the best stuff in the game comes from hard to defeat NPC's. If you are looking to be truely challenged in a game WoW is the game you're looking for. Picture 40 people heading into an instance for the first time. They see the usual level 62ish mobs inside. What they don't know is that if these mobs are not properly dealt with they will dominate all 40 people. In GW you just say LFG and you get to do the end game PvE stuff. In WoW you can't do that because its a huge waste of time...you'll just get pwnd big time. From the first time a guild enters the beginners PvE 40 man instance, Molten Core, til the time they complete it, a couple months will have passed. The guild has to work together as a team, like it does in GW during matches. When the final boss of Molten Core, Ragnaros, was defeated the news spread all over the WoW community, that's how big of a deal it was. Now, after months of experience on this same boss, he will get the crap beaten out of him with ease. This is the whole end game concept of WoW. You work out strategies, help eachother out, and win phat loot to make your character even more powerful. Not everyone will get into a raiding guild, but anyone is able to form their own if the determination is there.

Well, for those of you who are new to WoW, or thinking about getting it, I hope you liked the little article you just read. This is written from my perspective having been in a guild that has defeated every boss in both Molten Core and Blackwing Lair. Although I first said that Rogues aren't the best class choice, guess what, I am a Rogue! But if you still decide to create one you're going to have a hell of a time getting into a raiding guild due to the rogue population. That does not mean that they aren't a useful class for any raiding guild to have, keep that in mind as well. For those who are interested in the PvP aspect of being a Rogue check out my PvP/Dueling guide. It will help you to become a smarter player, and understand what seperates a good rogue from a bad one.

i went from 52 to 54 yesterday, spent 50g on skills, did all the western plaguelands, felwood and burning steppes quests in a day with one person(lvl 53), and we had help for one quest which required killing a 61 elite in andorhal.
today im gonna try and gain friendly rep with timbermaw, do winterspring quests and get to 55. my aim is to be 60 by next maintenance and so far so good.

Hopefully they'll start letting people transfer off of Elune soon. I havn't made any characters on other servers yet but everyone says since Elune is one of the original servers it's obsolete and the server lag can get pretty annoying. On a bright note I just hit 40 and bought my first mount, but I'm pretty much broke now( 15 gold left)

In Western Plaguelands there is a tower in the north with Scarlet Spellbinders inside (Look them up on http://wow.allakhazam.com) They drop a rare enchanting formula called Enchant Weapon: Crusader. I have sold them for300g before.

I gotta start running uldaman soon since SM gear doesn't include anything plate.
I also need to a shit load of skins and bars since I'm still pretty poor from my mount.

wahey! just levelled up tonight with max Expert First Aid and 159pts in Blacksmithing. Hopefully I can get to 225 before 45 and I'll be able to craft some good items.

I got a better blade than the Strike of the Hydra, too. and also started to wear some of Herod's spoils. Oh, the amount of armor and HP bonuses...
